Everton urged to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie amid Fabrizio Romano update
Everton have been urged to make a move for 22-year-old Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie after Fabrizio Romano claimed Premier League clubs were in pursuit.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon [26/08/21], the Italian transfer guru wrote: “Tottenham are not considering any swap deal for Weston McKennie with Juventus, again. [Fabio] Paratici signed McKennie one year ago and loves the player – but Spurs would only consider an initial loan move.
“There are also other Premier League clubs in the race for McKennie.”

Romano’s tweet was responded to by the Men In Blazers verified Twitter account, a weekly podcast and TV series on NBCSN that follows two Brits [TV producers Michael Davies and Roger Bennett] living in New York, hoping to spread the English footballing culture [TV Ropes].

Loan to buy?
Everton’s issues with FFP have been well documented in the past few weeks, as it appears that is what is holding the club back from splurging on big transfer fees in the summer transfer window.
So far, only Demarai Gray has signed for a small fee while Andros Townsend, Asmir Begovic and Andy Lonergan have arrived on free transfers.
Therefore, the Blues may have to get creative to bring in more reinforcements before the conclusion of the current transfer window.
Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan have made a big impact in midfield so far this season, but the gap in quality between the duo and the rest of the central midfielders is too vast, and Rafa Benitez needs to try and bring a fresh face in.
McKennie would tick a lot of boxes as an energetic and combative player who can score goals.
Italian news outlet Tuttosport reported earlier today [Thursday] that Everton are in talks with Juventus over the USA international.
Hopefully, we can see off interest from other Premier League clubs, notably Tottenham, to sign him before next Wednesday when the transfer window is no longer open.
