Juventus in talks with Everton for the sale of Weston McKennie

Juventus have intensified negotiations with Everton as they look to sell Weston McKennie this summer, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian giants have already identified Borussia Dortmund ace Axel Witsel as a replacement for the 22-year-old USA international midfielder and they are now ready to sell him.

McKennie is not in the plans of manager Massimiliano Allegri but Everton are not the only ones linked with his signature, with Tuttosport claiming Juve are in talks with several Premier League clubs for his sale.

With the Italian giants keen on letting the American go, he could soon be moving to the Premier League if a suitable offer is brought to the table.

Whether Everton have the funds to complete the deal remains to be seen, but manager Rafa Benitez could do with such a quality utility player in his squad.

McKennie plays primarily as a box-to-box midfielder [Bundesliga] but can also feature as a centre-back.

While at Schalke, he sometimes played as a full-back and as a striker.

He was involved in seven league goals last term and has shown his goalscoring prowess for country, grabbing the fastest hat-trick in the U.S. men’s national team’s history after scoring thrice in thirteen minutes in a CONCACAF Nations League game against Cuba in October 2019.

McKennie is a Jack of all trades and master of all, and those qualities at either end of the pitch and in the middle of the park would come in handy at Goodison Park if the Toffees can manage to get a deal over the line.
