PSG make personal approach to Everton attacker Richarlison
French giants PSG made an approach to Everton forward Richarlison last week, according to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones.
Speaking in a video posted on the Oddschanger Twitter account, Jones delivered an update on the 24-year-old Brazilian.
“Richarlison to PSG is definitely one that has been mooted and I know that he was sounded out about this a week ago,” he said.

“That was before the [Kylian] Mbappe offer [from Real Madrid] was even made so I think that’s really interesting in the sense that they’re already starting to think about how they will move on from Mbappe before it’s even happened.
“From Richarlison’s point of view, it’s a really good option for him. Real Madrid has been the club that’s he’s really been linked with mostly but Neymar is a good friend and idol of him.
“People that I spoke to said definitely do not rule this out from happening. The only reservation they had was whether it could happen now.
“Certainly Richarlison is in their (PSG) vision to come in and ultimately the player wants to push on in his career at some point in the next year and see what he can achieve in the game.
“So I can see it opening up, it’s just a case of ‘can it be done now’? If not, I think it will happen next year.”
Inevitable 2022 exit?
Jones seemed to leave the door slightly ajar in terms of Richarlison leaving Everton before the transfer window shuts on August 31, but we just cannot see how a move could transpire with less than a week remaining.
A lot of things would have to fall in place for that to happen, and Everton would have to source a replacement, possibly in the form of multiple players, to cover the loss of one of their star attackers.
The club are reportedly being hit by FFP regulations, and the sale of Richarlison would free up funds and relax the restrictions, but it would be at the risk of completely derailing their 2021/22 campaign.
The Blues have got off to a great start in the Premier League, beating Southampton 3-1 in Rafa Benitez’s opening game before playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Leeds United last weekend.
Richarlison has already proven his worth under the Spaniard with a goal and two assists to his name.
He will turn 25 by the end of the season, and his determination to leave Goodison Park is likely to increase if the Blues do not finish in the Champions League places.
Someone of his ability will be chomping at the bit for elite-level competition, and he has not been given that at Everton so far.
There could be a gentleman’s agreement already in place that sees him stay at Everton this season, put a real shift in, and then be sold for big money next summer.
