Everton greenlight Moise Kean loan-to-buy exit amid Juventus talks

Everton are prepared to sanction a loan exit for Moise Kean if there is an obligatory £21.5million clause at the end of it, according to Alfredo Pedulla.

The Italian journalist, who works for TV Dello Sport, made the claim via his website on Thursday night [26/08/21] after the 21-year-old’s agent was spotted at Juventus headquarters.

Pedulla wrote: “The bases are concrete: Everton has given the green light for an onerous loan, the formula that the British would like with an obligation of redemption for about 25 million [£21.5million] is being studied.

“Kean would be happy to come back, today’s meeting has laid important foundations. But Juve does not intend to stop with Kean.”

The Italian international joined Everton from Juventus in 2019, but he spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at PSG after failing to impress at Goodison Park.

Kean joined Juventus as a 10-year-old in 2010 and rose through the youth ranks before making his first-team debut in 2016, becoming the Old Lady’s youngest-ever debutant.

He scored eight goals in 21 appearances, including seven in 16 Serie A outings.

But, ultimately, the 2018 arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo helped to precipitate his departure from the Italian giants a year later.

Juve were after short-term success and Ronaldo came in to help them try to achieve their Champions League goal, with attackers like Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado already at the club and ahead of Kean in the attacking ranks.

He moved to Everton in a big-money move and much was expected of him, but he failed to deliver for the Blues and scored just four times in 39 appearances.

As destiny would have it, Ronaldo looks to be on his way back to the Premier League in a shock switch to Manchester City which has opened up a space for Kean to return to Juve.

Everton, meanwhile, will be left short in attack unless they can sign a striker to replace Kean before the end of the summer transfer window.
