Moise Kean expected in Turin tonight ahead of two-year Everton loan exit

Everton striker Moise Kean is expected in Turin tonight ahead of his Juventus medical on Sunday, according to The Athletic.

The online news outlet claims the 21-year-old Italy international is “on the cusp” of joining the Serie A giants on a two-year loan deal.

As per The Athletic’s understanding, the transfer will become permanent providing “certain targets” are met.

Goal or appearance targets?

It has not been disclosed what the actually targets are that have to be reached in order for Kean to sign for Juventus on a permanent deal, but it’s likely to be based on the amount of games he plays for the Old Lady, or how many goals he scores.

His Everton contract expires in 2024, so this loan move will take him to within a year of the deal’s conclusion.

Therefore, the Blues will surely be hoping that Juventus trigger the permanent clause in the loan deal as Kean will likely cost a cut-price fee in a couple of year time.

Regardless, this feels like the end to a miserable spell on Merseyside for Kean.

He arrived to much fanfare in 2019 but has failed to live up to his big price tag.

Kean was profligate in front of goal in his debut campaign before spending the majority of last season on loan at PSG.

While he boosted his reputation in the French capital, that was not enough to convince Rafa Benitez of his abilities, while it has long been mooted that he was unhappy with life at Goodison Park.

As such, an exit looks to be agreeable all around.

In other Everton news, the Blues are confident of signing this record-breaking striker amid an approach to his Saudi-owned club.
