Kris Boyd: Everton interest in Nathan Patterson not fading
Everton are still hot on the heels of Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson, claims Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd.
According to The Daily Mirror, the Toffees had tabled a £5million bid for the Scotland international.
However, The Liverpool Echo reported that the Scottish giants rejected Everton’s offer for the 19-year-old, but Boyd believes their interest is not going away.

After Patterson was ruled out of the Celtic game for self isolating, Boyd told Sky Sports, “It’s a massive blow, not ideal preparations [for Rangers] as he was told yesterday.
“It might be something that Rangers have to deal with as I’m led to believe the bid from Everton is not going away, their interest is still there.”
Next Coleman
While Patterson may not be at Seamus Coleman’s level yet, he’s only and has the potential to be one day be as good as the Toffees captain.
He’s proven himself at a very young age for one of Scotland’s biggest teams and he could look to push for an exit this summer as he’s not a regular in Steven Gerrard’s side, playing second-fiddle to James Tavernier.
While he may do the same at Goodison Park, in a year or two, he could become the undisputed first-choice in that position.

Patterson is quick, aggressive and an extremely hard-working player who would be an ideal fit for the Premier League.
Under the right coaching, he could go on to become one of the league’s best defenders and establish his credentials of becoming a regular for the Scotland national team as well.
If Rafa Benitez has serious ambitions of breaking into the top six this season, Patterson is a player he should look to sign.
