Everton have held discussions with England over Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Everton have had talks with England over Dominic Calvert-Lewin after the Toffees forward suffered a thigh strain against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Sky Sports claim that the 24-year-old has been playing with a broken toe as well as this thigh injury, and it appears as if the Toffees are trying to convince the Three Lions to release Calvert-Lewin from international duty.
This would undoubtedly boost Everton as Calvert-Lewin has started the season in fine form with three goals in his first three games, and if he were to miss England’s games, he would have more chance to recover; ahead of Everton’s match against Burnley.

Will Calvert-Lewin be withdrawn from the England squad?
Well, it appears as if the 24-year-old is struggling with two injures, and if the Three Lions are sensible, they will let Calvert-Lewin miss this international break.
If the striker were to play for England and suffer an injury, then the Toffees would be left without a first-team striker, with Moise Kean poised to rejoin Juventus [Fabrizio Romano].

So, we hope that Calvert-Lewin is kept out of the England squad to give him some more time to recover.
He has started brilliantly for Rafael Benitez and has been described as “world-class” by Planet Football in the past, so we hope that the Three Lions apply common sense and allow Calvert-Lewin to miss this set of international fixtures.
In other Everton news, the exit of one Toffees player is set to be announced imminently.
