Salomon Rondon move to Everton is ‘effectively now a done deal’
Everton are on the verge of announcing a deal for new striker Salomon Rondon, according to Sky Sports journalist Vinnie O’Connor.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Tuesday night [09:28pm] from outside of Everton’s Finch Farm training ground, O’Connor reported that Rondon’s move to Goodison Park is as good as a done deal.
It was widely reported that there was a snag due Rondon’s former club Dalian Professional but that seems to have now been overcome.

O’Connor said: “This is one deal that hasn’t been done behind the scenes, it’s effectively now a done deal.
“Everton are going to get Salomon Rondon, we just await now the official announcement from Everton Football Club,”

Don’t go to bed yet
Rondon’s arrival might not be the most exciting of transfers but it’s one that Evertonians should be pleased with.
The former West Brom striker has worked with Rafa Benitez at both Newcastle and Dalian, impressing in the Premier League during that loan spell at St James’ Park in 2018/19.
Benitez knows how to get a tune out of the 31-year-old Venezuela international and with him serving as a back-up option with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the deal makes a lot of sense.
Calvert-Lewin is obviously going to be Benitez’s first-choice striker but Rondon should be a solid option.
The Venezuelan isn’t exactly a proven goalscorer in the Premier League, netting just 35 times in 140 top-flight appearances in England.
However, it’s important to remember that the bulk of those appearances where made in a team managed by Tony Pulis and Rondon actually scored 12 goals and assisted seven in 33 Newcastle appearances.
Welcome, Salomon. We really hope you’re a success at Goodison Park.
In other Everton news, the Blues are ready to offer a two-year deal to sign this new player on deadline day.
