Everton set to receive Richarlison benefit as rivals in line for FIFA sanctions

A host of Premier League clubs are in line to face FIFA sanctions but Everton are likely to earn an exception according to GE.Globe.

The Brazilian news outlet claims Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester City, Leeds United, Chelsea and Manchester United could all be punished by FIFA for preventing their players from featuring for the Brazil national side during the September round of World Cup qualifiers.

The issue boils down to the clubs wanting to avoid their star men having to quarantine upon return to the UK and potentially missing vital matches after the international break concludes.

The CBF [Brazil Football Confederation] wants FIFA to impose a rule preventing the aforementioned clubs from using the likes of Roberto Firmino and Ederson for five days after the international window.

The exception, however, would be Everton and Richarlison.

The Blues and the Brazil governing body maintain a strong relationship after Richarlison was given Everton’s blessing to participate in the Olympic Games just weeks after featuring in the Copa America tournament.

Pays to be kind

It looks like the Blues are reaping the rewards of allowing the 24-year-old to continue his international exertions in the summer.

Instead of forcing the forward to stay on Merseyside and get ready for the new season, the Blues gave him permission to go for gold at the Olympic Games, something he went on to achieve.

That surely acted as a boost to Richarlison’s own mental well-being and feelings towards the club which may have dissuaded him from forcing a move to PSG or Real Madrid this summer.

The dual effect is that the Blues won’t be caught up in the row that is now set to erupt between the CBF and numerous Premier League sides.

In other Everton news, the Blues may revisit a deal for this international ace after suffering a summer blow.
