PSG lined up five-year Richarlison contract, Everton attacker’s agent was in talks

PSG had a five-year contract prepared for Everton attacker Richarlison and were prepared to offer him a wage hike, according to Goal Brazil.

The online news outlet claims the Ligue 1 giants were prepared to fork out £77.3million to secure his signature from the Premier League club if Kylian Mbappe moved to Real Madrid.

Renato Velasco, one of the 24-year-old’s agents, was said to be in the French capital on standby for the Parisians to launch an offer amid constant dialogue with the PSG board.

Goal report that a possible five-year contract for the Brazilian had been outlined with the player due to receive a salary increase if he made the move from Goodison Park to the Parc des Princes, although the values were “treated in secrecy”.

Richarlison and PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino had given the green light for the transfer but ultimately the move never came to fruition as Real Madrid failed to tempt the French club to part ways with Mbappe.

One more year as a Blue?

If reports are to be believed, the Brazilian forward was keen to secure a move away from Merseyside this summer with Paris firmly in his sights.

On the one hand, that’s hard to argue. His international teammate and close friend Neymar plays for PSG while Lionel Messi has just joined the French giants. The opportunity to line up alongside two of the best players in the world in attack would likely turn the heads of many.

However, Richarlison was allowed by Everotn to feature in the Olympic Games earlier this summer, just weeks after he participated in the Copa America tournament.

That meant his rest was reduced and his pre-season preparations were severely hampered.

He returned for the Blues’ first Premier League game of the season and has played in all three fixtures so far, but his workload will need to be managed carefully.

It was a kind gesture by Rafa Benitez and the Blues board, so if Richarlison did subsequently agree to a move they will surely be disappointed.

Regardless, it looks like he will be around for one more year before the big boys come calling again.

In other Everton news, the Blues may revisit a deal for this international ace after suffering a summer blow.
