Ben Foster hails ‘phenomenal’ Salomon Rondon in message to Everton fans
Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has sent an exciting message to Everton supporters after the deadline day arrival of Salomon Rondon.
The Venezuelan striker, 31, has signed a two-year contract with Everton to reunite him with Rafa Benitez for the third time in his career.
Speaking on The Cycling GK YouTube channel [02/09/21], Foster has lavished praise on his former West Brom teammate.

“Salomon Rondon is a player,” Foster said. “Everton fans, you will love Salomon Rondon, I guarantee it. He wears his heart on his sleeve and he works his socks off, he will give you absolutely everything he’s got, every single game.
“He’s a great lad to have in the dressing room. He’ll put the ball in the back of the net, he’s a big old strong lad and he gets himself about. He’s good in the air, he’ll bring it down for you and bring others into play but most importantly for me is his work rate, his work ethic is phenomenal.
“He gives absolutely everything. Considering he’s a big guy, he puts himself about like you wouldn’t believe.”

Fan favourite?
Rondon has certainly endeared himself to former teammates and fans at West Brom and Newcastle United. Now he’ll be looking to make that a hat-trick of Premier League clubs at Goodison Park this season.
One difference, however, is that he is unlikely to be one of the main men at Everton.
At West Brom and Newcastle, Rondon was a high-profile player that shouldered much of the attacking burden, whereas he’s unlikely to start the majority of games with the Blues.
That’s largely down to the success of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has proven himself as one of the most fearsome centre-forwards in the division.
But, the England international needs backup and competition, something which Rondon will be looking to provide.
If he works hard and can chip in with some important goals it won’t be long until Blues supporters take him in their hearts as well.
