Everton Super Fans fume at Serge Aurier suggestion

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Everton Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Goodison News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Goodison Park.

Everton Super Fans have flocked to a post on the Goodison News Facebook page asking Toffees fans if the club should sign Serge Aurier.

The Ivorian was released by Tottenham Hotspur and has been suggested as a possible signing for the Toffees because of the club’s need for a right-back [Daily Express].

Aurier has a good amount of Premier League experience and has also played in the Champions League on a good number of occasions. Still, it is clear that our Super Fans don’t want to see him at Goodison Park.

Everton can do better than Aurier.

The 28-year-old has a lot of good physical attributes, and the Toffees do need another right-back because if Seamus Coleman suffers an injury, they could be in trouble.

However, given Aurier’s tendency to lack concentration and make mistakes, we can’t imagine that Rafael Benitez would be keen on bringing him to Everton [Mirror].

Then there is his off-field reputation, and the Ivorian has been involved in his fair share of controversial incidents [Mirror].

Therefore, we agree with what our Super Fans are saying about Aurier and would advise the Toffees to stay well clear.
