Everton expect James Rodriguez back in training on Wednesday

Everton expect James Rodriguez to be back in training on Wednesday as hopes of a move to Turkey begin to fade.

The Liverpool Echo claim that the Colombian is expected at Finch Farm. Despite interest from Istanbul Basaksehir, he looks like he will be staying at Goodison Park for now.

The report also states that an unnamed club from the Middle East were keen, while the 30-year-old wasn’t keen on the idea of moving to Turkey.

Everton are stuck with Rodriguez.

There had been some hope that the Toffees could find an agreement with a club to take the 30-year-old off their hands, but it appears as if that won’t be happening.

This means that Rodriguez is going to be stuck at a club that he is desperate to leave, and the Toffees are going to be left to pick up his wage bill for another four months.

It will be interesting to see if Rodriguez features for Rafael Benitez’s side much between now and January, but we can’t see it happening.

Instead, we expect the Colombian to sit in the reserves waiting for a January move, and the club will hope they can move him on as well.

This transfer had so much promise, and after a decent first season, it has all turned sour, and it is best for both parties if Rodriguez leaves Merseyside ASAP.
