Everton handed Richarlison boost by FIFA ahead of Burnley clash
Everton have been handed a big boost ahead of Monday’s clash with Burnley after FIFA ruled that Richarlison can play at Goodison Park.
That’s according to The Times journalist Paul Joyce, writing via his personal Twitter profile amid the major controversy that has recently erupted in South America.
Joyce said: “Five Premier League clubs set to be without Brazilian players between September 10-14 – Everton can select Richarlison due to good relations with the Brazilian FA.”
Relief for Rafa
This issue has arisen as a result of Premier League clubs refusing to allow their Brazilian players to feature for their national team for the September World Cup qualifiers.
That’s because they feared that they would have to quarantine for an extended period on their return to England, thus missing a bunch of games for their clubs.
As it has transpired, they will miss games regardless after FIFA imposed the sanction on Thursday.
Liverpool will be without Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson for their trip to Leeds United on Sunday, while the home side will also be without Raphinha.

Everton, meanwhile, have escaped action due to their good relationship with Brazil, who have not asked for Richarlison to be banned in a big boost to Rafa Benitez.
Allowing the 24-year-old to play at the summer Olympic Games, as well as the Copa America, looks to have swayed the decision in Everton’s favour, and he will be in contention to start versus Burnley on Monday as the Blues bid to keep up their unbeaten start to the season.
