Everton Super Fans react to the latest on James Rodriguez

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Everton Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Goodison News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Goodison Park.

Everton Super Fans have flocked to a post on the Goodison News Facebook page about James Rodriguez.

The Toffees and Istanbul Basaksehir have a verbal agreement in place for the Colombian to leave Goodison Park today, but the player isn’t keen on the move, according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra.

Therefore, with the Turkish window set to slam shut later on today, it appears as if the Toffees are going to be stuck with Rodriguez until at least January.

This has annoyed our Super Fans who want him out of the club.

Waste.

If the 30-year-old does stay, which looks likely, we can’t see Rafael Benitez using him that often after he told him that he was free to leave the club.

Therefore, the Toffees will probably be left with a very talented player sat in the reserves waiting to go.

It is clear that he wants to end his spell on Merseyside, and it is very clear that the club want to offload his wages.

A move to Turkey, even on loan, could have allowed the Colombian to play some football and revive his career, which is stagnating, but if he doesn’t fancy the move, then what can the Toffees do?

This should have been an exciting transfer for the Toffees, but it is now obvious that our Super Fans want him out of the club.

In other Everton news, the club have agreed a deal for a big-name player to leave today.
