Everton fans appear to want Donny van de Beek signed after the club attempted to buy him from Manchester United on deadline day.

Guido Albers, who is the Dutch international's agent, recently told Ziggo Sport Voetbal [05/09/21] that Farhad Moshiri and Marcel Brands had held talks to bring the 24-year-old to Goodison Park last Tuesday.

However, the move did not materialise as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen on keeping him at Old Trafford.

The player himself decided to talk about his failed move to Goodison Park on the final day of the window.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel he said, “I spoke with the manager about [Everton] and with the club and they were clear they want to [keep] me here.

“The manager was really positive about me and he said I need you and I want to keep you here."

However, that did not stop the Toffees faithful from taking to Facebook to urge the club to sign him in January.

Here's what they said when asked whether they would him have him at Goodison Park:

Bring him in

The Toffees have lacked that creative midfield presence for the past few seasons and van de Beek's arrival would go a long way into solving that problem.

He is mobile, skilful and has an eye for a pass. The 24-year-old would be an ideal fit for a team that dominates possession.

While he's not the most physical of players, he doesn't go out without a fight and would be loved by the Goodison Park faithful.

It remains to be seen whether the club returns for him in January.
