Wolves striker Fabio Silva accuses Everton defender Yerry Mina of ‘mind games’
Wolves striker Fabio Silva has claimed that Everton centre-back Yerry Mina is one of the most annoying defenders he has come up against.
The Portuguese was asked in an interview as to who was the toughest defender he’s played against and he named the 26-year-old.
Silva, who was signed from Porto for £35.6million last year [BBC], believes that it’s part of Mina’s Colombian culture to play mind games and unsettle the opposition.

He told FourFourTwo, “[Yerry] Mina from Everton – he was the most annoying one I came up against.
“He’s Colombian, so I think it’s part of his culture to try to get into your head; play mind games, say things to provoke you.
“But I’m calm on the pitch and don’t pay attention.”
Mentality monster
Mina is a throwback to the old-school game where managers and players used to trash talk each other before and after matches.
It used to give them the edge mentally and used to often translate into a winning performance for their side.
The Colombian certainly loves running his mouth and has the skills and the fortitude to back up what he says.

He’s constantly in the ears of opposition attackers and likes putting them off guard during games.
We enjoy watching Mina play and we’re hoping for another solid performance today vs Burnley.
Hopefully, Ben Godfrey starts ahead of Michael Keane as he complements the Colombian perfectly and should be Benitez’s preferred centre-back pairing this season.
