Bill Kenwright spotted after QPR win penalty shoot-out v Everton

Bill Kenwright’s instant reaction to Everton losing to QPR on penalties on Tuesday night was caught by Sky Sports’ cameras.

After drawing 2-2 in normal time, the match went to penalties and every spot-kick was scored until Tom Davies’ miss.

Jimmy Dunne then scored the winner for QPR at Loftus Road to knock the Toffees out of the Carabao Cup early.

Everton chairman Kenwright was spotted in the stands after Dunne’s penalty was scored and he cut a rather anxious-looking figure.

Embarrassing

QPR haven’t had a bad start to their Championship season but seeing our team lose to them on penalties is embarrassing, to be frank.

Rafa Benitez didn’t name his strongest squad but he should not have had to as our second string was still good enough to be able to overcome the Londoners.

It was a team made up of internationals and Premier League regulars from recent years but still, it wasn’t enough to stop Charlie Austin, of all people, scoring twice in normal time.

It was a pathetic performance, in all honesty, and Kenwright and Benitez should be furious with the players themselves for not doing any better against a Championship club. Going to penalties against them is one thing but losing them is unacceptable.

That’s one piece of silverware we won’t be mounting a challenge for any more and that’s a massive shame because a good cup run would have lifted spirits massively at Goodison Park this season.

In other Everton news, the Blues should make another move to sign this £35million midfielder in January.
