James Rodriguez has option to leave Al-Rayyan for PSG after Everton exit
James Rodriguez can leave Al-Rayyan for Paris Saint-Germain following his Everton exit due to a clause, according to AS.
The Colombian international midfielder, 30, included the secret clause in his deal with the Qatari outfit, and PSG will be following his performances and look to swoop if they like what they see.
The owners of the French giants are from Qatar, and that has made such an agreement possible.
Good for him
Rodriguez did not prove himself in the Everton colours, but he was their best player on his day, putting in some impressive performances during his first few months at the club.
Not many believed he could leave Real Madrid for Goodison Park in the first place, and seeing him swap European football for the Middle East’s is surprising.
Given his quality and what he is capable of bringing to the table, the South American can still cut it in Europe, and the chance to Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at Parc des Princes would likely get him inspired.
He has what it takes to play alongside some of the best footballers on the planet, but he needs to first prove that he still has it over the coming months.
If he is indeed able to walk away from his Al Rayyan contract and join PSG, then Jorge Mendes has secured a great deal for his client, and we cannot wait to see whether that happens.
