Kevin Campbell: Salomon Rondon desperate to start for Everton v Norwich
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that Salomon Rondon will be desperate to start for Everton against Norwich this afternoon.
The Venezuelan has started the previous two fixtures against Aston Villa and QPR without scoring, looking short of match fitness in both.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison out, Rondon is set to start again and Campbell believes it is the perfect game.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “He’s got the games out of his system.
“It’s a home game against Norwich and that’s one that you definitely want to play in, that’s for sure. Home game, be on the front foot, opportunities to score.
“I’m sure he’s really looking forward to that game.”

Time to shine.
If Rondon struggles again this afternoon, the panic could start to set in between the fans, board and Rafa Benitez.
The Spaniard stuck his neck out to bring the South American to Goodison Park at the end of the previous window, bringing him across from China via a loan spell in Russia.
What we have seen so far is nowhere near good enough, and it is clear that he is not fit enough for the Premier League at this stage.
Rondon needs to concentrate on putting the ball in the back of the net, and he won’t get a better chance than against bottom of the league.
The striker needs to watch his side dominate possession and pop up in the final third when necessary to put the chances away – it is that simple.
Time to prove yourself.
