Everton starlet Lewis Dobbin praised by Rafael Benitez
Everton starlet Lewis Dobbin has been praised for his “desire and commitment” by Rafael Benitez after the forward made his Premier League debut.
The 18-year-old was brought off the bench to replace Alex Iwobi in the Toffees’ 2-0 win over Norwich City, and it is clear that the Spaniard has been impressed by the work that Dobbin has put in on the training ground [Liverpool Echo].
The young striker is one of many promising players in the Everton youth ranks, and it was great to see him come on against the Canaries.

Benitez said: “He’s someone that, when he’s training with us, he shows the desire and commitment. These players have to be seen.
“Sometimes you have a player in a training session, and you don’t appreciate anything, maybe he has nothing sometimes, or maybe he doesn’t have the desire.
“Dobbin is someone that you notice he’s there when he’s training.”
Big praise.
This is huge praise from Benitez for Dobbin, and it seems pretty clear that the young forward has the right attitude to succeed at the top level, which is great to hear.
He has been tipped to become a “top player” by David Unsworth, and it is clear that the Spaniard was more than happy to hand him his Premier League debut in front of a packed Goodison Park [Liverpool Echo].

The Toffees got the job done against Norwich, and it was nice to see Dobbin handed a slight opportunity to impress.
However, it does seem as he definitely earned that chance, and this wasn’t just a pitty appearance or anything like that.
It will be intriguing to see how many more league games Dobbin plays this season, but it looks as if he has a bright future.
