Abdoulaye Doucoure raves about Everton winger Andros Townsend
Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has suggested that Andros Townsend is playing with “full confidence” at the moment.
Doucoure, who is enjoying a fantastic season so far under Rafael Benitez, has praised the experienced winger after his brilliant performance against Norwich City on Saturday.
Townsend scored their opening goal from a penalty and Doucoure added another as Everton earned a 2-0 victory against the Canaries at Goodison Park.

Everton were without their two major penalty takers – Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison – for the game, and Townsend took the spot-kick responsibility and he did the job with great aplomb.
Townsend, who joined the Toffees in the summer transfer window on a free transfer, has settled in quickly at his new club. He has been in terrific form, managing four goals and three assists in all competitions.
“Andros is full of confidence at the moment… we didn’t have our main penalty takers, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison, so he took responsibility and put the ball in the net,” said Doucoure to the club’s official website.
Big weekend
Everton have made a solid start to the season and find themselves fifth in the league table with 13 points, one point behind league leaders, Liverpool.
The Toffees will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United this weekend, and it promises to be a cracking game.

While Everton’s home form has been very encouraging, picking up three wins in a row, their away form hasn’t been great so far.
They dropped points against Leeds and lost 3-0 against Aston Villa as well. It would be a tough game, but Everton have every reason to be hopeful of a positive result.
Both Doucoure and Townsend have been outstanding this season for the Toffees, and Everton fans will be hoping for another strong performance from them on Saturday.
