Everton need to improve on their corners, according to Benitez
Rafael Benitez believes that Everton need to improve their corner kicks going forward but did suggest that things are improving.
The Toffees have had 31 corners this season but have only scored twice from set-pieces, and it seems as if the Spaniard has made some changes in that area and wants to see more.
Speaking in his post-match press conference after the Toffees sealed a 1-1 draw with Manchester United [Liverpool Echo], Benitez detailed what he had changed.

He said: “We had the first game Lucas [Digne] was taking a few corners, some short corners.
“We changed to Andros to see if we had a different option, Andre Gomes in the Carabao Cup against Queens Park Rangers too.
“We are trying to find the right deliveries. So it’s sometimes a question of confidence with the player who is taking the corner or the free-kick.
“But we are quite happy with them because we have different options. Hopefully, little-by-little, we will have more accuracy, and then we can score goals.”
Benitez demands improvement.
The Toffees have had a fantastic start to the season and sit in fourth after seven matches.
However, Benitez always wants his side to improve, and it is very clear that while he is happy with some progress that his side are making, he wants to see better corners.
This is the sign of a winner, someone who is never satisfied with his team and always wanting more, which should drive the squad on to achieve great things.

The Toffees were well worth their point on Saturday and could have easily snatched all three after creating a lot of chances throughout the match.
However, they only had one corner on Saturday, so didn’t have too many chances to cause problems.
Benitez is a breath of fresh air for Everton, and the future looks very bright with him at the helm.
