Everton a very feasible option for Real Madrid playmaker Isco
Everton are the most feasible option for Real Madrid ace Isco as he considers his future ahead of January, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish international, 29, is in the final months of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the La Liga giants are very much open to selling him in the winter in order not to lose him for nothing.
Clubs are keeping tabs on Isco’s situation, and the Toffees could make a move if the playmaker is keen on leaving Madrid during the next transfer window.
Reunion on the cards?
Rafa Benitez has already reunited with Andros Townsend and Salomon Rondon at Goodison Park, and he has been linked with interest in Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff.
The Spaniard loves working with some of his trusted former charges, and it seems that has sparked the Isco links.
The Everton boss worked with the midfielder briefly during his Madrid stint, and given the absence of a dynamic and creative playmaker at the club following the exit of James Rodriguez, could a move for Isco be on the cards?
He is out of favour under Carlo Ancelotti and will need to leave if he wants to play for Spain at the summer World Cup.
Isco has only been involved in double digits in goal involvement in five out of nine seasons at Madrid.
He has never managed to fulfil his potential despite the huge quality he has, and Everton could be wary of taking another gamble after the Rodriguez project backfired.
Benitez has turned around the fortunes of the likes of Demarai Gray and Townsend, though, and no one will bet against him doing so with Isco if he moves to Merseyside.
However, can the Toffees afford his wages and will he be keen on a move?
