Everton have not reached an agreement with Southampon over Thierry Small

Everton have not yet managed to reach an agreement with Southampton over Thierry Small, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Talk have reached a “stalemate” and it is said that the Toffees and the Saints are increasingly unlikely to reach an agreement over the 17-year-old left-back.

The last negotiations took place in August but the Toffees have tried again only to receive no response from the Saints and it appears as if a tribunal will be required to settle the dispute between the two Premier League clubs.

Everton still fighting over Small.

Small refused to turn up for training while he was at Goodison Park as he looked to force a move away.

Eventually, Southampton stepped in and offered him an escape route; however, it appears as if the Saints are unwilling to discuss compensation with the Toffees, which is a bit ridiculous.

The Toffees are entitled to compensation and to just not respond to the latest revival effort is simply not good enough.

They have the player, so why don’t they just agree some compensation with Everton and make it easier for all parties, and allow both clubs to move on from this ridiculous situation.

Instead, it appears as if the whole thing will go to a tribunal where they could decide that Southampton have to pay a lot more than what the Toffees perhaps wanted.

However, it could work in their favour and they could get away with paying a very small amount of compensation, which would just about sum up the Toffees’ luck with this situation.
