Everton make enquiry to sign Aaron Ramsey in January

Everton have reportedly made an enquiry into signing Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey in January.

According to Calciomercato, West Ham are also on the hunt for the former Premier League midfielder and could look to sign him once the window opens.

Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini has been tasked with the mission of getting the player off the club’s payroll.

Might cost a bomb in wages

While his transfer may not cost a lot as Juve are desperate to see the back of him, he may command plenty in wages.

Having played for clubs like Arsenal and Juventus, Ramsey may believe that his stock is on a high, despite not featuring regularly in the Serie A.

He is a player who knows the Premier League inside and out and would come to the club with the know-how of winning the big games.

That said, he is already 30 and even in his mid-20s, he had plenty of injury worries that had stagnated his career.

Once viewed as the next big thing in the Premier League, the Wales international has seen his journey go through plenty of ups and downs.

On paper, it seems similar to the James Rodriguez signing, but the Colombian came on the recommendation of Carlo Ancelotti, having worked with him previously, and that’s not something that can be said about Rafa Benitez and Ramsey.
