Leroy Rosenior: Salomon Rondon may keep Calvert-Lewin out of Everton XI
Leroy Rosenior believes Salomon Rondon is good enough to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin out of the Everton lineup.
The England international’s injury has coincided with Richarlison’s, which has seen the Venezuelan get a decent run of games under his belt.
Despite him not scoring a single goal, Rosenior believes that he can keep Calvert-Lewin, who was a regular under Carlo Ancelotti, out of the team.

He said on Premier League Fanzone, “When Calvert-Lewin comes back, maybe he’ll have to be on the bench given how well Rondon is doing. Rafa has not just added depth but has brought in quality.”
What’s he talking about?
With all due respect to Rondon, he is not the same player who was a regular starter in the Premier League.
He is on the wrong side of 30 and has been out of touch with the English game, given his travails in China.
The Venezuelan, who has been labelled as “exceptional” by Jim White, [talkSPORT 18/03/2019], was signed as a backup for these situations when Benitez does not have his first choice attackers available.

While he hasn’t done too badly, he’s not showcased why he should keep Calvert-Lewin out who’s on the back of his best goal-scoring campaign for the Toffees.
Even prior to his injury, the England international was nearly scoring a goal in every game.
He’s a perfect fit for the style of football Benitez wants to play and Rosenior, quite frankly, does not know what he’s talking about.
