Everton star Yerry Mina lauded for his display against Uruguay

Everton star Yerry Mina has received huge praise from Marca Claro after his latest display for Colombia.

The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes as his country drew Uruguay 0-0, and it seems as if Mina was the main reason why his country won.

The giant centre-back was described as “impeccable” by the Colombian outlet, and he was praised for the way in which he dealt with Luis Suarez, Darwin Nunez, and Edinson Cavani.

Mina is constantly improving.

When Rafael Benitez arrived at Goodison Park, there had been talk that the Colombian didn’t convince the Spaniard [Sport].

However, fair play to Mina because he has obviously worked very hard in training and has started six league games for the Toffees this season.

Yes, Everton don’t have that many centre-backs, but to go from being not fancied to first-choice is impressive, and he deserves great credit for achieving this.

To then turn in a mature performance for his country while Suarez tried to wind him up is even more impressive and shows that the Colombian is maturing as a player.

You would think that he is only going to get better and better under Benitez, and this is an exciting time for Mina, who could become an excellent centre-back.

By all accounts, this was an impressive display of composure from Mina, and we look forward to seeing what he can do in an Everton shirt for the rest of the season.

In other Everton news, the club still want to sign Aaron Ramsey and could include one player in a swap deal.
