Everton Women Expert delivers verdict as Nicoline Sorensen suffers ACL injury
We’re delighted to welcome Peter MacFarlane, member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, as our exclusive Everton Women expert.
Nicoline Sorensen looks set for an extended period on the sidelines after the Everton Women forward suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury last month.
The incident occurred in Everton’s’ 3-1 victory over Birmingham City, and Blues boss Willie Kirk lamented the loss of the 24-year-old, in quotes carried by the Liverpool Echo.
“We have already talked about how we can continue to develop her over the rehab, because it is a lengthy rehab,” Kirk said.

“She has got targets already and without a doubt she will come back, but it is a blow to her and a blow to the team.”
While a considerable disappointment to occur so early in the season, Peter MacFarlane, member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, is confident that Sorensen can recover completely and emerge an even better player.
He told Goodison News: “I was so sad to hear that Nico Sorensen has suffered a terrible injury, one which is far too common in women’s football.

“Nico has been such a positive influence since she’s joined the club. Her work rate and desire are second to none while her speed and crossing have been a huge asset, along with her goals.
“It’s such a massive shame but I have no doubt that she will be back stronger and better than ever. She will have such amazing support from both the medical staff and her teammates.
“I’m sure Gabby George in particular, who suffered a similar injury, will be there for Nico and help her along the way on her journey back, and us fans will support her all the way.
“The hard work starts now but given the type of person she is, I have no doubt we will see her back to her best.”
