Leicester enter race to sign Everton target Isco
Everton will reportedly face competition from Leicester City to sign Real Madrid playmaker Isco.
According to Spanish media outlet Fichajes, the four-time Champions League winner does not fit into manager Carlo Ancelotti’s plans this season.
Real are set to part ways with the 29-year-old and the Premier League appears to be a likely destination for the Spain international.
Act quickly
The Toffees desperately lack a creative midfielder and are yet to replace James Rodriguez who departed unceremoniously after the season started.
While he wasn’t the most consistent of players, the team could still rely on him to bail them out against sides sitting back and not giving the players any room to maneouvre.
Signing Isco would address that problem. Unlike James, he does not drift out wide and goes missing during games, but is central to the team’s attack.
He can be played as an eight as well as a ten and is known to deliver whenever the manager demands something from him.
In a side like Real Madrid which is filled with world-class players, it’s often impossible to break into the first team.
Rather than being a peripheral figure there, the Spaniard would prefer moving to the Premier League and start week in and week out.
If Everton are to sign him, they must move quickly as Leicester’s financial muscle could give them the upper hand later on.
