Rafael Benitez reveals what he expects from West Ham against Everton on Sunday
Rafael Benitez expects Everton to have a tough game against West Ham on Sunday and stressed the importance of picking up three points.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference (via Betfred), the Spaniard lauded David Moyes and the Hammers after their strong 2020/21 campaign and equally impressive start to their Europa League campaign.
However, depending on other results, a win at Goodison would propel the Toffees into the top four, and it seems as if Benitez sees this game as more important than some of the others.
He said: “There are some moments that you play against teams that are more or less around your position, and then it’s really important for the confidence.
“We know that they are a good team, they did well last year, and they have a manager that knows us really well.
“So, it will be tough, but it’s an important game.”
Benitez is expecting a tough match.
This should be an absolute cracker, really, as both sides have not been afraid of scoring goals this season.
Defensively as well, the Toffees have only kept two clean sheets, while the Hammers have only kept one in the league.
So, you would think there will be goals and plenty of them.
The Toffees are set to be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison again but have managed well without them, so hopefully, that won’t be a problem for Everton [Phil Kirkbride].

It is clear that Benitez is anticipating a tough game, and considering the way the Irons have been over the past year, you can see why.
The Toffees are also unbeaten at home under the Spaniard, while the Irons are unbeaten away in the league so far this campaign.
So, it really should be a fascinating encounter, and we can’t wait for it to get started on Sunday afternoon.
