Everton icon Steven Pienaar reveals what he tells players about the club
Everton legend Steven Pienaar claims that he tells all of the players he trains how big his former club are.
Speaking to Voetbal International, the former Toffees player discussed various topics, including the Toffees and his current role as a coach in the Ajax academy.
However, it is clear from the interview that Pienaar still has a lot of affection for Everton and reminds his players just how big the club is, with some of his players choosing to train in Everton gear.

He said: “Some people don’t think Everton is a very big club; they prefer to walk in stuff from a top club like Chelsea. I’ll also give [them] a history lesson about Everton.”
Nice words from Pienaar.
This is a nice touch from the former South African midfielder who was an excellent player for the Toffees in his time at Goodison Park.
In nine years with the club, he made a staggering 229 appearances in which he scored 26 goals and provided 49 assists.
So, it is no wonder that he speaks about the club so positively, and it is fantastic to see him speak so highly about the club.

It is also brilliant to see so many of his players wear Everton gear, so it is clear that he is getting the message through to his players about the Toffees and how big the club is.
This is a fascinating interview with one of Everton’s recent legends, and it is clear that he has his head screwed on and could have a big career ahead as a manager or as a coach.
After the playing career he had, it would be nice to see him succeed as a coach.
In other Everton news, Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be the centre of a five-way transfer battle.
