Arsenal defender Josh Robinson reveals Everton interest
Arsenal defender Josh Robinson has confirmed Everton were interested in signing him before he moved to the Emirates Stadium.
Robinson, 16, trialled for Arsenal initially and was rejected by the Gunners after it, before they decided to give him a second chance a few months later.
In that period of time, clubs like Everton and QPR were keen on him, but he claims that he always wanted to move to the billionaire-owned North London club.

In an interview with Arsenal’s official website, “They rejected me, so I went back to the development centre and carried on playing and working hard until Crystal Palace asked me to go on trial.
“I played with them for a little while and teams like QPR and Everton were interested, but when Arsenal invited me for another trial, I had to take it. They liked me, signed me up and I’ve been here ever since.”
Top talent?
He’s giving an interview to the official Arsenal website so he obviously cannot say that he was considering other clubs as well.
So, we do not know whether or not he considered a move to Goodison Park, but he would’ve been a fantastic addition to the developmental squad.
He’s a centre-back by trade but is also capable of playing in midfield – which is an amazing facet to have, especially before players become senior players.

At 16 he’s already become a regular for the Arsenal under-18s and if they do not hand him a contract at the end of his scholarship, Everton must consider signing him.
There are times where he’s also played at right-back and he could find his perfect role at the club.
The Toffees have had some terrific talents come up the ranks in the past few years and despite Robinson signing for Arsenal, they should not get him off their radar.
