Kevin Campbell disagrees with Rafa Benitez complaints in Everton loss v West Ham
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has disagreed with Rafa Benitez after his complaints from the Everton defeat against West Ham.
The Spaniard insisted that Jordan Pickford was fouled in the lead up to Angelo Ogbonna’s winner at Goodison Park.
Campbell believed it was never a foul and that the Toffees were second best most of the clash and were made to pay.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “That wasn’t a foul, at all.
“I thought the better team won on the day. If it wasn’t for some last-ditch challenges, it could have been more.
“Everton just really weren’t at the race, especially attacking wise, when you don’t take your chances and you’re at home, the opposition will eventually get you.
“It’s a tough one for Everton to take.”

Wrong.
Benitez claiming that the six-yard box was there to protect his goalkeeper seemed a little ludicrous, and it led to some real criticism.
It was a poor goal to concede in the end and the way the Toffees defended the corner should have been the biggest concern.
With injury concerns over the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, the midfield could become considerably weaker for the next couple of months.
Should that start affecting the defence and the rest of the side, we could start to see some concerning results.
Hopefully, that isn’t the case and we can be talking about some big wins and attacking positivity at Goodison Park.
