Everton Super Fans react as Newcastle United set sights on Dominic Calvert-Lewin
This is part of a regular series from our panel of Everton Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Goodison News Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Goodison Park.
Everton fans have reacted to the news that Newcastle United are reportedly in pursuit of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Telegraph claimed on Wednesday [20/10/21] that the Magpies, recently the subject of a huge takeover, want to sign the 24-year-old England international with the club’s hierarchy hugely impressed by the centre-forward.
Calvert-Lewin has been linked with numerous other clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

Our panel of Everton Super Fans have delivered their take on the recent report that Newcastle United are eyeing the Everton striker.
Here’s what they had to say…

Cuckoo land
Newcastle may have grand designs of breaking the ‘Big Six’ stranglehold on the Premier League, but they cannot change their fortunes around in a matter of months.
The Magpies are currently marooned in the relegation zone, without a win all season, and there is still the very real threat of playing Championship football next year, something that would dash their dreams of instantly becoming a top-flight force again.
With the prospect of relegation still there, they are unlikely to be able to attract high-calibre players entering the prime years of their career.
Calvert-Lewin certainly fits into that category, and if he was to leave the Blues in the next few years, it would be for an established Champions League club.
Luckily, that still seems a fair distance off, and Blues can enjoy their main man for a while longer.
In other Everton news, this Premier League club was furious at Marcel Brands over a big Blues transfer.
