Joleon Lescott tears into Everton defenders Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane
Everton defenders Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane have been slammed by Joleon Lescott for their performance against Watford on Saturday.
Despite dominating the game for most of the time, the Toffees failed to pick up three points on the afternoon.
They got humiliated by a side battling relegation and faced a 5-2 embarrassment in front of their home fans.

Discussing the game on Premier League Productions’ round-up show, Lescott, a BT Sport pundit, said, “Both centre backs were out of the box for two of their five goals conceded. Never a good sign.
“It’s not a picture or pattern you’ve seen usually. Rafa Benitez always has side organised and tight, but here they were all over the place. It could be dangerous if they keep performing like that.”
Shocking
To see this side capitulate in the manner they did was absolutely shocking and no fan deserves to see their team get humiliated at home against relegation candidates.
This was the ideal game for Everton to put last week’s West Ham loss to bed, but they ended up making that game a preferable occasion for the Goodison Park faithful.

Benitez does not deserve all of the blame here as some of the goals were conceded due to individual errors.
Surely Benitez would not have asked his defenders to stay out of the box with the ball inside the final third, so it’s clearly down to them.
It was unbelievable at times to see such an organised side in recent weeks to be carved open in this manner.
The Spaniard needs to go back to the drawing board and address these issues before it gets too late.
