Duncan Ferguson looked absolutely dejected as Watford ran riot in 5-2 loss

Everton were handed a 5-2 mauling by Watford at Goodison Park on Saturday, with the visitors scoring four goals with just 12 minutes to go.

The Toffees fell apart despite leading twice, and not many would have believed that the Hornets could put five goals past their defence given how solid they have looked at times under Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard was disappointed with the performance of his side, and a visibly distraught Duncan Ferguson was caught by BBC cameras [as shown on Match of the Day] looking absolutely dejected when Watford scored their fifth.

Unbelievable

Claudio Ranieri saw his side suffer a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in his first match in charge last weekend, and many expected them to struggle again on their visit to Goodison Park.

Everton largely looked impressive in the opening minutes of the game, but it was Josh King who ran the show, bagging three goals and constantly tormenting the Blues defence.

He was considered not good enough by the Blues during a disappointing loan spell last term, but he came back to prove what he is capable of doing when given a proper chance.

Ferguson clearly would not have believed it that it was the Norwegian who singlehandedly wrecked Everton.

Everton

Being a former striker, the Toffees first-team coach would have taught King a few things about the art of goalscoring during his ill-fated spell on Merseyside, and the Watford man clearly applied some of those lessons yesterday.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin out injured, Benitez really could do with a lethal number 9, and the Goodison Park crowd would have been jealous seeing the Everton flop run rings around their defence.
