Adria Durham: Amanda Staveley wants Everton boss Rafa Benitez at Newcastle United
TalkSPORT host Adrian Durham claims Newcastle United want to prise Rafa Benitez from Everton.
Durham, speaking via his ‘Drive’ show on Monday [25/10/21], has shared some information on the Magpies’ search for Steve Bruce’s successor, following the billionaire-owned club’s recent takeover [Forbes].
“I do know Amanda Staveley does want Rafa Benitez, that’s the word,” Durham said. “That would go down very well.

“The key is the Everton fans want him to be at Newcastle as well I think, especially after the weekend!”
Durham later added: “We understand Amanda Staveley is a big fan of his and wants him to be back at the football club.
“She’s got a big say in that decision, as we understand it.
“I do not believe Everton fans, deep down, if they had the choice, would want Rafa Benitez as their manager.
“They’ll be quite happy for him to go.”

Patience wearing thin?
Saturday’s 5-2 defeat to Watford has really put Benitez under pressure at Everton.
The manner of the defeat, after being 2-1 ahead at Goodison Park against a beleaguered Hornets side who had just lost 5-0 against Liverpool, has really agitated supporters.
It was Everton’s second home defeat within a week after losing 1-0 to West Ham on October 17.
After the early goodwill afforded to him by Blues following his controversial appointment as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor, Benitez is now battling against a chorus of discontent.
Of course, some positive results in November could see support sway back in his favour, but the club face tricky trips to Wolves, Manchester City and Brentford next month, as well as a clash against Tottenham at Goodison.
Failure to amass a decent number of points in November could see an agreeable exit for Benitez to Newcastle.
In other Everton news, the Blues have made contact over this striker that Pep Guardiola called ‘Incredible’, and a January transfer is on the cards.
