Guy Mowbray: Allan rightly booked after diving for Everton v Watford

Everton crashed to a shocking 5-2 defeat against Watford on Saturday, but that wasn’t the only embarrassing part of the day.

Allan has been left without his midfield partner of Abdoulaye Doucoure after his injury, and it appears as though it is getting to him.

Guy Mowbray has singled him out for diving against the Hornets, with his unfortunate display getting him booked as well.

Everton

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Mowbray singled out the Brazilian for his antics at Goodison Park in the defeat.

“Allan was at it for Everton yesterday, unfortunately,” he said. “Rightly booked.”

Chris Sutton was asking for nominations as to who could his win his “simulation game” live on BBC 505, and he wasn’t short of options.

Stop.

Unfortunately, for all the good work that Allan does, he has this tendency in his game to waste it with stuff such as this.

The Brazilian looked lost without Doucoure at the side of him yesterday, and defensively, the Toffees were embarrassed by a mediocre Watford attack.

There was enough warning though, with every single goal nearly the same on the break or from a set-piece, and yet nothing was done to stop that.

Rafa Benitez can only do so much, but when it comes to players shaking responsibility when doing simple things such as marking their men, he has to stand and watch.

Allan was one of those who should have grabbed the game by the scruff of its neck, but instead, he watched on and did nothing to change the outcome.

Things have to change, and it has to happen quickly.
