Kevin Campbell reacts to worrying Everton financial update
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell believes every Premier League club will be struggling financially after worrying Everton figures were released.
Kieran Maguire has shared that the Toffees are losing £2.5million-per-week in the latest edition of his podcast.
Campbell insisted that while Everton will be playing catch up with matchday revenues, it will take quite some time to fully recover.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “Look, every club will be making a loss, I’m sure right now.
“How do you stop the bleeding? It’s very difficult to stop that when you’ve had such a long period of not having fans in the stadium. Obviously, that matchday revenue will be generating but there have been nearly two years without fans.
“You try to play catchup, but that will take a while to make it back up – very difficult.”

Panic?
Rafa Benitez arrived knowing that the finances were a worry at Goodison Park, but many thought that stopped at transfers.
It looks as though the general finances are a worry though, with £2.5million every single week a staggering fee for any business or club.
Campbell insists that every club will be suffering in similar measures, and the Premier League will likely understand that after the pandemic.
Farhad Moshiri won’t want this to continue for too long though, and will be looking to bring in measures to prevent that.
