Jose Baxter eases injury fears over Everton starlet Tyler Onyango

Jose Baxter has confirmed that Everton starlet Tyler Onyango isn’t injured, and his substitution was planned.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the former Toffees player and current coach allayed any fears over Onyango, who has only just recovered from an injury and was substituted against Burnley Under-21s.

This is good news for the Toffees as Rafael Benitez is apparently considering using him in the first team [The Athletic].

Baxter said: “That was planned, he’s been out for a long time, and we have to look after Ty.

“With the minutes he’s played, we don’t want to over-do it for him with a busy schedule coming up.”

Good news for Onyango.

The 18-year-old central midfielder has been described as “energetic” by Adam Jones, and it seems as if Benitez has also been impressed with what he has seen from Onyango [Royal Blue podcast].

It is good to hear that his substitution was planned, and he hasn’t suffered an injury or anything like that as the Toffees could do with him.

Saturday was a nightmare for the Toffees, and Onyango could be a good addition to the squad to freshen things up a little bit.

Certainly, he could add something different that might just kick a few players on as well.

The Toffees have a lot of talented youngsters, and it appears as if Onyango is the next one that Benitez wants to have a closer look at.

So, we will have to see if he features against Wolverhampton Wanderers but even if he doesn’t, it looks like he has a long and bright career ahead of him at Goodison Park.
