Michael Ball savages Everton star Salomon Rondon after big defeat v Watford

Michael Ball has destroyed Everton attacker Salomon Rondon after the big 5-2 defeat against Watford this weekend.

Rafa Benitez once again kept faith with the Venezuelan, who struggled and did nothing of note for yet another game at Goodison Park.

Ball admitted he had been patient with Rondon, but enough is enough after another game when he “didn’t do anything.”

Writing for the Liverpool Echo, Ball didn’t hold back on Rondon who has been at the club long enough to receive criticism.

“I’ve given Salomon Rondon the benefit of the doubt because he’s been playing catch-up fitness-wise and has been playing in a lesser league but he’s got to do something,” he wrote.

“You’ve got to make your mark in the game. Rondon is not giving us that outlet at all. I didn’t see our striker create one chance. He didn’t do anything.

“That’s a massive issue when your main number 9 is not having any opportunities on goal, there’s a problem there.”

Shocker.

This is turning into a real transfer disaster from Benitez and the Toffees.

When Rondon arrived, there was real anticipation that the Spaniard could get the best out of him just as he did at West Brom and Newcastle throughout his career.

It is unknown why that hasn’t happened, but after numerous starts, the struggling for match fitness excuse is starting to wear thin.

Rondon has had more than enough chances, and it will be a real shock to see him start over Richarlison once again at Wolves next week.

The Brazilian did more in that one half against Watford than his teammate had in numerous starts beforehand.

Ball is right, Rondon is worryingly doing nothing and we hope that he can somehow turn this around before he is deemed a complete waste.
