Simon Jordan predicts potential rift between Rafa Benitez & Farhad Moshiri
Despite the weekend’s surprise result against Watford, many Everton fans will be pleased to see their side just one point away from 5th position.
Four goals in the final ten minutes of that clash, however, saw Watford complete the turnaround at Goodison Park, a match in which Rafa Benitez’s men were without key players such as Abdoulaye Doucore and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
But former Crystal Palace chairman and TALKSport co-host Simon Jordan believes that a continued spell of bad results could lead to a strain between Everton manager and chairman, Farhad Moshiri.

Speaking on talkSPORT earlier, Jordan said: “Will there be a departure from the congenial, mild-mannered Benitez who is happy with his lot at Everton to the person that is not getting quite enough support that we’ve seen in other incarnations that will suddenly start briefing the media against the owner?
“I wouldn’t be surprised if that came along. Moshiri has not put the money into this team this year in the same way as before because they’ve been caught by Financial Fair Play.”

Unsupported
While tensions were high between fans and managerial appointment during the summer, fans have been understanding with Benitez and the financial constraints placed on him.
This can be seen by Demari Gray’s arrival from Bayer Leverkusen being the only incoming transfer which cost the club money – and only £1.4 million at that, the lowest amount in the Premier League.
The loss of Calvert-Lewin is one of the major causes for Everton’s downturn in form, despite the defence being the issue against Watford.
The Toffees took seven points from their opening three matches, with the England international netting in all three games.
Since his injury, Benitez’s side have only scored six goals in the following six fixtures. And with their number nine ruled out for at least another month, it could be a difficult run of fixtures for the Goodison Park faithful.
