Everton set to block Colombia call-up for Yerry Mina amid injury issues
Everton have issued an order that Yerry Mina must not be called up to the Colombia national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
That’s according to Colombian journalist Carlos Aleman, followed by Fabrizio Romano and Everton correspondent Patrick Boyland [The Athletic] on his verified Twitter profile.
Colombia face crucial games against Brazil [November 12] and Paraguay [November 16] next month, but they may have to do without the services of one of their most important stars.

Mina, 27, played all three of their qualifiers earlier this month, but their 0-0 with Ecuador on October 14 is the last time he made it onto the pitch as he did not feature for Everton against West Ham [0-1] and Watford [2-5] due to injury.
In a video shared on the Saque Largo Win Twitter account, Aleman suggests the Blues are set to block any attempts by Colombia to call the centre-back up for their next squad.
“They tell me from England, a source from Everton, that Yerry Mina must be discarded for qualifying,” he said.

Blues backline in dire straits
The absence of Mina has been keenly felt on the Everton side in recent weeks, with the Blues shipping six times in two games and losing both.
Set-pieces have been an issue with the side even more vulnerable without the imposing Colombian.
Rafa Benitez shared in his pre-Wolves conference this week [Liverpool Echo] that Mina will miss Monday’s trip to Molineux, and his participation in the club’s last fixture before the next international break, against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park [November 7], looks to be in doubt.
Therefore, the club is naturally reticent to allow him to leave on international duty where he could pick up another injury.
Besides, it may be that his current one rules him out anyway.
