Cenk Tosun pictured in first-team training ahead of Wolves trip
Everton are preparing for Monday’s trip to the Midlands to face Wolverhampton Wanderers, and they appear to have been handed an injury boost.
The club released their latest behind-the-scenes photos on their official website to provide a little snippet of the action at the Finch Farm training pitch, and Cenk Tosun was spotted alongside the rest of the first-team players.
The Turkey international striker, 30, has not been involved in action in 2021-22 having been out injured since last season, but it appears he is back to full fitness and ready to be thrown into action as he was seen training with his teammates.
Boost?
Tosun picked up a nasty injury while on loan at Besiktas, and he underwent knee surgery in April.
With Everton lacking attacking firepower right now, could he be involved in action in some capacity against Wolves?
Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains out of action and is still some weeks away from getting back on the pitch.
Salomon Rondon has failed to impress in the absence of the England international striker, and Rafa Benitez could be tempted to hand Tosun an opportunity.
He is out of contract in June, and an extension does not look to be on the cards given his frequent struggles with injuries.
Everton need to win at the Molineux Stadium on Monday after consecutive league defeats at the hands of West Ham United and Watford, and should Tosun help out in any capacity in the team’s bid to pick up valuable three points, he could just be about to get his Toffees career back on track.
