Fabian Delph returns to training ahead of Wolves clash

Everton have been handed an injury boost with Fabian Delph returning to training ahead of the Wolves clash on Monday.

The midfielder was ruled out for the last few weeks with a shoulder injury and Benitez had stated in September that he could miss up to six weeks.

However, looking at the recent pictures posted on the official Everton website and per The Liverpool Echo, the 31-year-old is now back in training.

The Toffees have had massive injury worries since the start of the season and Rafa Benitez has not been dealt a fair deck of cards in the transfer market.

Given how large the job at hand was, he wasn’t handed the required funds to strengthen this team due to their issues with FFP.

While Delph may not be the best technical player, his versatility is key and Benitez could deploy him in different positions efficiently.

He’s one of the players who follows the manager’s orders to the T and his professionalism will be infectious on the training pitch.

Delph is also highly rated by presenter Richard Keys who referred to him as “terrific” when the Toffees signed him in 2019.

While we’re not expecting the Englishman to be thrown into the playing eleven, given Abdoulaye Doucoure’s absence, but he is all set to at least make the matchday squad and possibly get minutes off the bench.
