Kevin Campbell thrilled by Everton links to Ivan Perisic
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has been thrilled by reports linking Everton with a big move for Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic.
Fichaejes reported earlier in the week that the Toffees are facing competition from West Ham for the Croatian.
Perisic is set to leave in 2022 with his contract expiring, and Campbell believes he would add an extra layer of “quality” to Rafa Benitez’ side.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “Good player, really good player.
“I’d like to see that, he knows his way around the football pitch. He’s still fit, still quick and strong, and he’s very experienced.
“He would add an extra layer of quality on the attacking side so that would be a good move.”

Smart.
This could be a really smart piece of business by Everton and Marcel Brands going into 2022.
Financial Fair Play rules have eased around the Toffees, but they haven’t fully disappeared and bringing in someone such as Perisic for next-to-nothing can’t be judged.
The Croatian has been there and done it in multiple leagues, winning the Serie A and Bundesliga in recent years, and his physicality could be perfect for the Premier League.
Benitez needs more reinforcements in the final third, the injuries to Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have proved that.
Could Perisic be the man to solve these issues? Time will tell, but Brands still has to go out and seal the deal before we start thinking about that.
In other Everton news, this Toffees defender is being watched very close with a major exit on the cards
