Kevin Campbell: Richarlison to start for Everton v Wolves

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has insisted that Richarlison will come back into the starting XI for Everton this evening against Wolves.

The Brazilian started on the bench upon his return against Watford but did come on to score in that 5–2 defeat at Goodison Park.

Campbell believes that Rafa Benitez could change his system at Molineux, playing Richarlison alongside Salomon Rondon.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I personally think it depends how the manager wants to go.

“He may play them both up there, I don’t see that being a problem. Playing Rondon up on his own is sometimes more difficult than anything.

“He’s searching for fitness and he’s got no partner to play with, so I think Richarlison comes back into the team.

“The system or the formation, I don’t know, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

Guaranteed.

There are simply no excuses for Richarlison not to start at Molineux this evening, Benitez will know that.

Rondon has been nothing short of shocking since arriving in the summer, but could he be more effective with the Brazilian alongside him?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has formed a brilliant partnership with the South American, and Rondon could fill that physical role to allow his teammate to thrive around him.

Could Benitez change his system? With the injuries currently in the squad, it is definitely possible, although we do have doubts about that.

One thing that is guaranteed is that the Toffees have to be better and complete the basics – Richarlison coming in should help that in the final third.
