Everton defender Mason Holgate fumes at Allan during Wolves loss

Everton defender Mason Holgate was seen fuming at midfielder Allan during the 2-1 defeat against Wolves on Monday night.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Holgate shouted towards the Brazilian when he opted to knock the ball out of play after one of the opposition players was down injured.

Allan then pointed to the Wolves players to explain his actions but the tension was palpable.

Strange

Holgate shouting at Allan was pretty strange as he did not seem to deny the Toffees any goal-scoring opportunity.

It’s not like the Brazilian stopped his side from hitting the hosts on the break.

In the situation when the player was visibly in pain, it made sense for the midfielder to stop proceedings so Holgate should not have reacted in the way he did.

Possibly, the Toffees defender was agitated by the way the team was performing and decided to take his frustration out on the midfielder.

It was undoubtedly a below-par performance and we’re sure that the Toffees faithful would not be particularly impressed with the way their team played.

Since the opening whistle, Everton seemed second best and deservedly lost the game.

Rafa Benitez definitely needs to improve his tactics and team selection because whatever he’s been doing of late has not been working.

Hopefully, in January, he’s able to sign a couple of players to bring on board and strengthen his first team.
