Everton manager Rafa Benitez wins heart with ‘lovely gesture’

Everton manager Rafael Benitez may not be a popular appointment at the Merseyside club, but there’s no doubt that he loves the area very much.

When he was at Liverpool, he did some fantastic off-the-pitch work, contributing to the Hillsborough justice campaign, and other charity stuff. At Newcastle, he did a lot of community work as well.

On Tuesday, in Rhyl, Benitez and his wife, Montse, have purchased a holiday home and they donated it to Olly children’s charity.

According to Matthew Chandler, Benitez brought a holiday home at Lyons Parks and gifted it to the OLLY children’s charity that supports children who are suffering from the loss of a parent.

Chandler wrote on Twitter: “In Rhyl today, where Everton manager Rafa Benitez and wife Montse have bought a holiday home at Lyons Park and gifted it to the OLLY Children’s Charity, which supports children in Merseyside suffering with the loss of a parent. Lovely gesture.”

Benitez has responded to his post, saying – “It’s always a pleasure.”

Lovely gesture

Some things are bigger than football, and Everton fans will love what he did today.

He and his wife have been involved in a lot of charity works, and these are the gestures that define a man’s true personality.

Seriously, what a lovely gesture! It shows that colours matter little to him. He loves Merseyside, and he is happy to do whatever he can to help the people of this city. They genuinely care about local people.

Coming back to matters on the pitch, Everton are really struggling after the October international break, and they have failed to win a single game, managing three defeats in a row.

The pressure is gradually mounting on the Spaniard, but he is confident that he can turn it around.

In the 2-1 defeat against Wolves, he saw plenty of positives in the second half and suggested that his players showed character.

Everton will face Tottenham in their next Premier League game on Sunday.
